As Director of Operations at Jackmont Hospitality’s South Florida locations, Lazaro “Laz” Dominguez keeps the team on their toes with his commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences. Laz joined Jackmont Hospitality in 2011 opening TGI FRIDAYS at Miami International Airport as the General Manager, and in 2014 took on the LAX Regional Operations role at The Pie Hole. In his current post, he implements operational initiatives effectively to restaurant management teams, resulting in superb guest service and robust financial results. Laz thrives on guiding his management teams to perform at their best, providing support and developmental road maps to see them succeed.
Laz’s penchant for hard work is a lifetime in the making. Born in Cuba, he then moved to Costa Rica before arriving stateside at the age of 7 without speaking a word of English. Before Jackmont received his talents, Laz worked his way up the chain of command to General Manager at Bennigan’s in Miami and eventually Hollywood from 1993 to 2006. His dedication to outstanding guest satisfaction was recognized by the Miami International Airport in 2012 for Best Food and Beverage Operations at TGI FRIDAYS. One year later, he received the Jackmont Hospitality Passion for Excellence Award. Dedicated to the betterment of not only his staff, but his community as a whole, Laz wants to play a greater role with CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a national non-profit that provides education and resources and strives to put an end to childhood cancer.
