The title of Facility and Construction Manager might bring to mind the image of a handyman, but don’t challenge Dave Orr to any type of cooking competition. Although his favorite aspects of his position at Jackmont Hospitality involve educating, helping and empowering his coworkers, he has shown no mercy in Iron Chef-style cooking competitions with his wife – he won the battle of Secret Ingredient- Ginger.
While this scuba diver might be considered a daredevil in his spare time, Dave remains fully committed to hospitality – a characteristic he developed during 15 years as a restaurant owner and manager. At Jackmont, Dave is on call to respond to emergency facility response, assist with asset repair and replace decisions, forecast for capital expenditures and supervise construction. He also educates Jackmont team members on facility best practices, such as asset maintenance, training and financial asset allocation.
Outside of Jackmont Hospitality, Dave is a member of the Restaurant Facility Manager’s Association and enjoys spending time with his family. He lives with his wife and teenage daughter, though the family’s poodle Sophie runs the show at home. And while his positive energy might seem constant, you never know when Dave has been up all night pit roasting a whole hog – just one of his many culinary talents.
