Dakita Plant, also known as Ms. D, brings a zest for life to her role as Director of Operations at Jackmont Hospitality’s Georgia locations. A company veteran, Dakita joined Jackmont in 2001 as a Front of House Manager and throughout her tenure; Dakita worked her way up the ranks at more than seven TGI FRIDAYS® locations throughout the Southeast and Philadelphia. Holding positions as bar manager, kitchen manager, and general manager, Dakita is now setting new standards as the first female Director of Operations at Jackmont Hospitality. Dakita’s greatest strength has been building relationships within her team. Leading by example, she prides herself on helping her team members reach their fullest potential.
Prior to joining the team, Dakita worked for Aramark, serving as the Catering Director at Georgia State University and Morehouse College. Dakita takes her leadership role very seriously, both within and outside of Jackmont. She is a facilitator for Leadership That Rocks, and is a member of both Women in Business, and the Michigan State University Alumni Association. Dakita also serves as a mentor to high school students within her church.
When Dakita is not working, she loves to travel. She has set a goal of visiting all 50 states by the age of 50 and she is well on her way, having touched ground in 34 states so far. She was able to stamp her passport in 2014 when she was awarded a trip to Edinburgh, Scotland and New Castle, England for selling the most Heineken products within the company. When Dakita is not traveling, she enjoys line dancing, taking in live music and spending time with family and friends.
