Charlye Batten serves as Director of Human Resources and is responsible for recruiting, training and development strategies for more than 3,500 employees – Charlye lives for good food and loves to help people, which is why she fits in perfectly here at Jackmont!. She was drawn to HR through her passion for interacting with people and helping to impact business growth through our most important assets, our people.
Before joining the Jackmont team, Charlye was a Senior Human Resources Manager for Sodexo, Inc. Corporate Services in the Business & Industry and Leisure Services & Cultural Destinations and previously served in HR management for Kodak Dental Systems and Willmer Engineering. Batten holds an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management, a graduate certificate in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and a BBA in Business Management from Georgia State University. Charlye is the former Chair for Sodexo’s National Chapter of the African American Leadership Forum (AALF) Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program and a former Membership Committee Co-Chair for the National Association for African Americans in Human Resources, and a member of the National Society for Human Resource Professionals.
When she’s not busy running Jackmont’s stellar talent and culinary world, Charlye runs a culinary program of her own…she’s known as her family’s very own “Executive Chef.” You can usually find her cooking dinners weekly for her mother and the rest of the family and expertly handling most of the cooking for family events. Her favorite dish to cook is a roasted chicken, served with the classics: Macaroni and cheese, jalapeno and cheese cornbread muffins and vegetables. To top it off, she bakes a delicious red velvet cake with pecan cream cheese frosting. Everything made from scratch! When she gets a break from the kitchen, her favorite dish to order out is rib-eye steak with a baked sweet potato and a Caesar salad.
